3 Keys to Hosting a Great Staff Party in Victoria

Part of owning a local business is hosting annual business events, the most important one being your annual staff party. In some cases, employees hate their staff parties (because they are super lame) or alternatively they look forward to them all year long because they have never been disappointed by the level of entertainment provided.

We have put together a short guide on how to put on the best staff party for your local business. Three main tips are listed below:

  1. Venue – Picking the right venue is important. Make sure you choose a venue that can handle the capacity of your guests, but also remember do not pick a venue that is too big because it will make your guest feel awkward about dancing. Make sure to book a space that is big enough for everyone, but small enough that everyone can have a great dance party.
  2. Music – Pick a good DJ. The music is the life of the party, so make sure that you pick an experienced and credible dj company. Pick a DJ with a vast array of music that can play a little something for everybody. In Victoria, we use White Lotus DJ & Events.   3. Giveaways & Prizes – Don’t give away lame prizes. You want your guest to be excited about winning the prizes so make sure you pick prizes that people will really want to win. Another great tip is to get to know your staff and what they like, that way you can customize the gifts to be more in line with their interests. Show them you know them well by picking gifts that they would love to receive.
